The original design was produced when I was experimenting with some scrap modelling resources and as the shape formed along with my first design sketch a shape of two long walls running as two non-parallel lines in route to intercept. These run along the side elevations to create the concrete facades.
`I don’t want to protect the environment. I want to create a world where the environment doesn’t need protecting.’
With the interest of sustainability ideas formed for the left elevation to be designed as a carbon concrete structure offering a structural wall being made of concrete and carbon fibres this showing as one of the many sustainability techniques used within this design.
The carbon concrete façade is different to the right elevation as this façade will be constructed of a translucent concrete wall to allow natural lighting being structured by concrete and optic fibres this allows a natural appearance to match any surrounding being urban or rural.

The front and rear facades are vast areas of glazing held by a reclaimed steel frame with is concealed in a wrapping of thick insulation around the frame to minimise heat loss from the glazing this is then also held within a reclaimed wood finish to again represent a natural appearance and using recycled materials.
The internals of this design offers spaces separated and held by internal supports created from re-used and recycled containers resulting an internal structure and an industrial open plan appearance. The floor of this design is a marble aesthetic that offers a comforting grand look made of recycled glass slabs.
To the final aspect of this build we look at the roof which is structurally supported by the steel frame columns seen throughout and this well supported roof is made of structural insulated panels to save temperature loss from thermal bridges. This also has a finish of a flat green roof offering natural design and energy efficiency while this roof also holding 4 large Photovoltaic panels covering the mass area of this roof directed at sunlight this would have the potential to power the proposed. Along with external features you have the GF patio created by a void in the sloped wall and a 2* sloped floor for all drainage and runoff to keep most drainage towards one elevation.
